Sut ma'i, croeso - Hello, welcome
This is the official website for the Snowdonia Mountains and Coast tourism area which covers the Llyn Peninsula, Cambrian Coastline and Snowdonia National Park. The area includes places like Abersoch, Pwllheli, Nefyn, Caernarfon (A World Heritage site), Bangor, Porthmadog, Harlech, Tywyn, Y Bala, Aberdyfi and many more. Use Google Maps to get a birds eye view website link - type in Gwynedd and we're there.
Think of Wales and you think of mountains. Think of mountains and you think of Snowdonia. These high peaks have always captured the imagination, from the very earliest days of travel and tourism. Times change. The mountains are as dramatic as ever. But todays travellers want bistros as well as bunkhouses, good food as well as great scenery, classy hotels to accompany those classic views. And an A Z choice of things to see and do.
Snowdonia Mountains and Coast ticks all those boxes. Were lucky enough in North Wales to have the Llyn and Cambrian coastline to go with those big mountains, which means we can offer all kinds of outdoor activities. So you can go surfing in the morning and mountain biking in the afternoon, or mix watersports with walking. Little wonder weve been called the UKs number-one activity centre. But some things dont and shouldnt change. Here, again, were fortunate.
Snowdonia Mountains and Coast has a character all of its own, in no small measure due to a rich history and enduring heritage. It all translates into a culture that, while rooted in the past is still very much alive and forward looking. Old and new blend seamlessly here. Our traditional welcome Croeso may well be served up with a modern twist. But whenever you come summer or winter youll soon know what it means.
